FIFO Auto-Commit

WholeCell's FIFO Auto-Commit can currently be used on orders from these channels:

  • Amazon

  • Backmarket

  • Ebay

  • Reebelo

  • Walmart

  • Swappa

  • WooCommerce

***This will not work for orders imported from ShipStation, even if they are from the channels listed. This only works on WholeCell's native eCommerce integrations with the channels listed above.

How it works:

  1. ecommerce order imports to WholeCell

  2. order item(s) are created during import favoring the SKU that you have in-stock at the time of import from channel (this has not changed)

  3. the oldest inventory item in available pool (matching the SKUs associated with listing, inventory statuses & warehouses selected on ecom channel setting) is auto-committed to the order

Orders will not be auto-committed if there is no inventory available when the order imports to WholeCell. To make these situations obvious, we recommend using a Sales Order Automation to move orders into a "Ready to Ship" status, triggered on full-commitment. This way, any orders that can't be auto-committed will be left in "New" status (or whatever you have mapped in your settings) and your auto-committed orders will be moved to "Ready to Ship" status (clearly displaying which orders still need to be committed). For this configuration you will also need to enable our "prevent duplicate order status updates" beta features for the channels you are setting this up for.

Why would you want to use it?

  1. Time savings

  2. Prevents need to direct-commit non-matching SKU inventory

FIFO auto-commit can save you significant time in fulfillment and it can help prevent overselling for certain workflows. Some WholeCell customers have hired virtual assistants entirely for this purpose - to commit IMEIs to sales orders so the warehouse team has an assigned IMEI to pick for each order. This feature should solve this need.

Why would you NOT want to use it?

  1. Requires hunting for a specific IMEI when picking

For customers who organize their warehouse with bins for each SKU, auto-commit will require the picker to sort through a SKU bin to find a specific IMEI. This obviously is more time intensive than grabbing the first IMEI available in the bin.

How to enable it
