You can track non-cellphone products in WholeCell - you just have to get a little creative with our product fields.

For example, for a MacBook we recommend using WholeCell's Model column for the base model, screen size, and year, then use the Variant column for the processor, RAM, and GPU.

Here’s an example for a MacBook Pro:

  • Manufacturer: Apple

  • Model: MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2021)

  • Variant: A2485 (16GB RAM, M1 Pro)

  • Network: N/A

  • Color: Silver

  • Capacity: 512GB

  • Grade: B Grade

  • Damages/Conditions: none

  • SKU: APL-MBP16-2021-16RAM-M1P-SLVR-512SSD-B

Here's one for an Apple Watch Ultra:

  • Manufacturer: Apple

  • Model: Watch Ultra 49mm

  • Variant: A2622

  • Network: GPS+Cellular (Unlocked)

  • Color: Titanium

  • Capacity: 32GB

  • Grade: C Grade

  • Damages/Conditions: Cracked Glass

  • SKU: APL-WATULTRA-49-TITAN-UNLK-C-CG

The purpose of keeping a disciplined and consistent product catalog is that you get the benefit of WholeCell's filtering abilities when exploring your inventory AND it saves time when listing on e-commerce. We recommend setting clear standards for your catalog team up-front - it will be a time investment at the beginning but will save A LOT of time as your business scales.
